Summer 2022

The Irish Theatre Summer Programme class of 2022

This summer was quite a doozy, filled with travel, theatre and of course unexpected chaos.

During the middle of June, my twin sister and I hopped on a plane to Dublin, Ireland to study at the Gaiety School of Acting for a month, focusing on Irish theatre and devising. During those four weeks, I learned so much about the culture and history of Ireland, and how that translated to the theatre, especially during periods like the Irish Cultural Revival. Working with the amazing tutors (like John O’Hare, Seamus Quinn, Alan Howley, James Hickson, Roseanne Lynch and Martin Maguire) was a once in a lifetime experience, as each of them brought such a unique perspective to the playwrights and techniques they were teaching. While I did sadly catch COVID-19 (for the first time, of course) during the second week, that didn’t stop me from learning everything I could from these wonderful people.

Once I arrived back in the states, and after a quick trip to Florida, my sister and I made our television debut on Amazon Prime’s A League of Their Own, in a small co-star role. Working on this series in fall of 2021 was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had acting. Getting to meet and act with Abbi Jacobson, D’arcy Carden, Kelley McCormack and Roberta Colindrez (and briefly Rosie O’Donnell!) truly exceeded my expectations and I am so grateful that I got to have such an incredible experience on my first television role.

This summer was wild, and I wouldn’t change it for anything. I can’t wait to see where this year takes me…onwards and upwards!
